Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about EasyGeorgian, our courses, and learning Georgian.
🇬🇪 About Georgian
Is Georgian hard to learn?
Georgian has a unique alphabet and grammar that can seem intimidating at first. But the alphabet is completely phonetic (one letter = one sound), basic conversation is very achievable, and the pronunciation — while unfamiliar — is actually quite regular. With the right method, most people can hold basic conversations in 5-6 weeks.
How long does it take to learn Georgian?
It depends on your goals. With 30 minutes a day, you can handle basic conversations in about 6 weeks (after completing our audio course). Getting to intermediate takes 3-6 months. Full fluency requires years of practice, but you'll be functional in daily life much sooner than you think.
Do I need to learn the Georgian alphabet?
We strongly recommend it — and it's easier than you think. Our free YouTube video teaches all 33 letters in about an hour. The alphabet is phonetic, so once you know it, you can read any Georgian word. That said, our audio course works even without reading ability.
Will I need Georgian if I'm just visiting?
For a short tourist visit, you can get by with English in most tourist areas of Tbilisi. But knowing even basic phrases dramatically changes the experience — locals light up when foreigners try Georgian. If you're staying more than a few weeks or living outside central Tbilisi, Georgian becomes much more important.
📚 About Our Courses
What's the difference between the Audio Course and the Podcast Course?
The Audio Course is for beginners — it teaches you Georgian from scratch using interactive Pimsleur-style lessons (listen, speak, repeat). The Podcast Course is for intermediate learners — real Georgian conversations on interesting topics with transcripts and translations. The Audio Course teaches you the language; the Podcast Course helps you understand real Georgians.
What method does the audio course use?
The Pimsleur method — the same approach used by the FBI and State Department for language training. Each lesson presents a conversation, breaks it down, and uses graduated interval recall (a form of spaced repetition) to move words from short-term to long-term memory. You listen and speak out loud — no reading or writing required.
Can I access the courses on my phone?
Yes. All courses work on any device with a web browser — phone, tablet, or computer. The flashcard app is also a Progressive Web App (PWA) that you can install on your home screen for a native app experience.
Is the course content downloadable?
Courses are streaming-only to protect our content. You can access them anytime through your account, but audio files cannot be downloaded. This ensures we can keep creating high-quality Georgian learning content.
Are there any prerequisites for the beginner course?
None at all. The beginner audio course starts from absolute zero — no Georgian knowledge required. We do recommend watching our free alphabet video first (about an hour), but it's not mandatory.
How does the podcast course differ from regular podcasts about Georgia?
Our podcast course is structured for language learning, not just entertainment. Each episode includes a slow-speed dialogue, vocabulary breakdowns, a natural-speed replay, and comes with full Georgian transcripts, translations, and flashcard integration. It's designed to systematically build your comprehension.
💳 Payment & Access
Is this a subscription?
No. All our courses are one-time purchases with lifetime access. Pay once, learn forever. No monthly fees, no expiration dates.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all courses. If it's not for you, email us within 14 days and we'll refund your purchase in full, no questions asked.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards through our secure payment processor. More payment options may be available depending on your region.
How do I access my course after buying?
After purchase, you'll create an account (or log in) and get instant access to your course. You can start learning right away through our website on any device.
Why is the audio course only $10?
We're offering an 89% launch discount (down from $89.95) because we want as many people as possible to try the course and give us feedback. This price won't last forever, so it's a great time to start.
🃏 Flashcard App
Is the flashcard app free?
The flashcard app is free for all course students. When you purchase any course, you automatically get access to the corresponding vocabulary deck in the app.
How does spaced repetition work?
When you review a flashcard, you rate how well you remembered it (Again, Hard, Good, Easy). The app uses the SM-2 algorithm to schedule each card's next review at the optimal time — right before you'd forget it. This means you spend less time studying while remembering more.
Can I add my own flashcards?
Currently, the app uses curated vocabulary from our courses. Custom card creation is on our roadmap for a future update.
